Fluttershy enjoying some well-deserved (but all too brief) peace and quiet while babysitting Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.

This is my first attempt at vector tracing a screencap (or anything, lol). I wanted something that was cute, but also relatively straight-forward looking since I haven't done this before. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

EDIT: March 2nd, just updated the file as I tweaked one of the curves on her wing which was looking a bit off.

Very cute and I actually think that Fluttershy would be a great babysitter since she's kind and sweet. :D

How do you draw with vector so fluently? I've tried and it's WAY different from making any bitmap image. The computer normally smooths out the edges so often that it doesn't work the way I want. And if I turn off smoothing, it gets all riggedy and too sharp. Oh well. This is awesome anyway. :D

Well, I'm not sure what program you're using so I can't say exactly. I've done the vectors in my gallery using pretty much only Photoshop's assortment of vector creation and manipulating tools. I usually smooth them out after creating the basic outlines. In the 2 or 3 months I've been at it, I think I've just instinctually adopted a few methods that result in smooth curves using the tools I've got available.

I've tried a bit in Illustrator, but I've found that it almost has too many tools. The learning curve is steeper, and all that extra stuff isn't really required to recreate the basic style of FiM.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that. I've used Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Flash (In a class). I thought that's what you're using. I have Photoshop on my laptop,*cough*byspecialmeanslol*cough*, but I never knew you can manipulate it to produce vector art.
